Greetings, everyone! I’m thrilled to share my recent interview with The Evidence Base® during the World Evidence, Pricing, and Access Congress. With Laura Dormer, we explored a topic of immense importance to me: patient-centric pricing in healthcare. Join me as we delve into this fascinating subject and discover how we can prioritize patients in healthcare.

During our conversation, we focused on patients’ financial challenges when seeking healthcare. Paying for prescriptions can be a significant hurdle, hindering many individuals from initiating or maintaining their treatments. Surprisingly, this issue extends beyond low and middle-income countries, affecting around 20% of people in wealthier countries who struggle to access healthcare due to high costs. It’s a situation that calls for our attention. It is clear that healthcare should be managed as an investment, instead of the predominant cost perception.

We must place patients at the forefront of healthcare pricing decisions to address these challenges. We need a patient-centric approach that considers their unique needs and provides support where necessary. After all, only some require the same level of assistance to receive the care they deserve.

Let’s take a moment to acknowledge the reality: current pricing regulations and practices disproportionately impact lower-income populations. These individuals are less likely to prioritize preventive healthcare, making them more susceptible to developing illnesses. It’s time for us to make a difference.

By embracing a patient-centric pricing mindset, we can start to tackle these issues head-on. This approach considers each patient’s circumstances and offers tailored support to bridge the gaps in healthcare accessibility and affordability.

Suppose you’re eager to learn more about patient-centric pricing and its potential to transform the healthcare landscape for the betterment of patients and our healthcare systems. In that case, I invite you to explore the full interview on The Evidence Base. Trust me, it’s an enlightening read. If you find it insightful, please consider sharing it with your network to raise awareness about this critical issue.

Together, let’s drive change and ensure that patients receive the care they need, when they need it, without undue financial burdens.
